Thanks to Calum and Beth from Generation Science / Digital Scotland, P6/7 spent this morning improving their programming skills.  We learned about the difference between machines and robots, and the role of microprocessors as the “robot brain.”

The robots we were using had three sensors: distance, touch and light/dark.  We had to programme very clear, step-by-step instructions so that the robots could successfully perform different tasks/challenges.

It was really tricky, and most of us had to keep adjusting our programmes several times until our robot passed the test on the special track.

We are looking forward to the next installment in two weeks time!
